V P Kashim Shettima was Special Guest of Honour at conferment of Chieftaincy title Asiwaju

Vice President Kashim Shettima I was Special Guest of Honour at the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Asiwaju of Ijebuland on industrialist and philanthropist, Dr. Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, at the ceremony held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

In my remarks at the occasion, I conveyed greetings from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the new Asiwaju as a worthy son of the soil, a leader committed to entrenching peaceful coexistence across the length and breadth of the nation.

I also emphasized the importance of service to humanity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria and urged political leaders to project the beauty of the nation's cultural diversity.

The event we witnessed is not just one that celebrates the intertwining between leadership and culture but indeed the essence of humanity which is service.

I called on Dr. Adegunwa to see his new role as a call to service, a reminder that what we owe this country is a sacrifice for love, tolerance and total dedication.

STRANGE BUT TRUE! MEET THE YORUBA O̩BA WHO MUST NOT SEE ANOTHER O̩BA. Here reigns the Onido of Idolorişa, O̩ba Aruna Isho̩la, one of the hundreds of traditional rulers, who continue to exercise influence over the material and spiritual lives of those resident here.
