Kwara state update

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq emphasized the pivotal role of steel in Nigeria’s industrialization efforts during a meeting with the Honourable Minister of Steel, Prince Audu Shuaib Abubakar. 

The Governor proposed that KAM Holdings Limited, a prominent indigenous company in Kwara, should manage the operations of the Ajaokuta Steel Production.

Governor AbdulRazaq reflected on the importance of reviving Ajaokuta Steel Company, describing it as essential for driving industrialization in Nigeria. 

He commended the Minister for initiating the process to revive the company and highlighted the significant contributions of KAM Holdings to the steel sector in Nigeria.

The Governor’s proposal aligns with the administration’s commitment to supporting indigenous players in the steel industry and fostering industrial growth in Kwara State. He emphasized the importance of leveraging local expertise and resources to advance the steel sector’s development agenda.

Prince Audu, in response, commended Governor AbdulRazaq’s leadership and acknowledged the achievements of the administration across various sectors of the economy. 

He expressed the federal government’s commitment to industrialization and job creation, emphasizing the role of the steel industry in achieving these objectives.

The Minister’s visit to Kwara State is a reflection of the government’s efforts to support indigenous players in the steel industry and promote industrialization initiatives in Nigeria. 

Governor AbdulRazaq’s advocacy for KAM Holdings equally shows the state’s potential to contribute significantly to the nation’s industrial development.
