Senator Tokunbo Abiru's Christmas Gift to Lagos East Constituents

As part of the Christmas celebrations, Senator Tokunbo Abiru has extended a hand of love and fellowship to his constituents in Lagos East. In a season of giving, Senator Abiru has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of his people.

A Tradition of Giving

According to Senator Abiru, "This initiative is not only a tradition but also an opportunity to show love and fellowship to one another. We have been doing this for the last 18 months since the elections, and we do it almost on a quarterly basis."

Empowering Constituents

Senator Abiru has empowered thousands of people in Lagos State through his various initiatives. Recently, he distributed food packs to 10,000 households across the five local governments in his district. Each household received an 8kg bag of rice and an 8kg bag of gari.

Supporting Tax Reforms

Senator Abiru also took the opportunity to address the recent tax reforms initiated by the federal government. He explained that the reforms are pro-people and pro-growth initiatives designed to support low-income individuals and small businesses.

"The tax reforms are meant to address some of the past decisions of past governments that were not in line with how economies should evolve," Senator Abiru said. "The reforms are pro-people because they exempt individuals earning below N800,000 from tax payments. Additionally, small businesses with a turnover of N50 million and below are also exempt from taxes."

A Call to Support

Senator Abiru urged his constituents to support the tax reforms and the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. "This is a lifetime opportunity that we must all take advantage of," he said. "Let us support the growth and reforms initiatives of our president and the leadership that we have."
