In a monumental leap for healthcare in Oreta Community, the Federal Government, under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiative, has unveiled a state-of-the-art 20-bed Primary Healthcare Centre. The facility, commissioned by Her Excellency Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to redefine healthcare delivery in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
Equipped with modern amenities such as a labor room, patient wards, an Intensive Care Unit, Maternity Care Room, and Behavioral Health Room, the centre is tailored to meet the diverse medical needs of the community. It also includes specialized spaces like a consultant’s office and a medical-behavioral room, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services.
Expressing her joy at the inauguration, Princess Orelope-Adefulire described the facility as a beacon of hope for mothers, children, and all residents. “This healthcare centre is a testament to our dedication to improving lives. It represents a commitment to accessible, quality healthcare for Oreta and its environs,” she said.
Looking to the future, she pledged additional upgrades, including an Immunization, Antenatal, Gynecology, and Postnatal Unit, as well as Doctors’ Quarters. To bolster safety, plans are underway to construct a security post and reinforce the perimeter fence with barbed wire.
Princess Orelope-Adefulire also urged the community to remain patient and optimistic as the government works towards delivering on its promises. She assured residents that 2025 would bring transformative changes, adding, “The current challenges are temporary. Let us continue to pray for President Tinubu and remain hopeful for brighter days ahead.”
The Senior Special Assistant applauded the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Mayokun Daini, for his dedication to community development. She called on party leaders to sustain his leadership, stating, “Daini is an invaluable asset to the LCDA, and his efforts deserve continuous support.”
The event drew a host of dignitaries, including His Royal Majesty Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, and Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council. They lauded Princess Orelope-Adefulire for her selflessness and steadfast dedication to community development.
Other speakers, including Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, a former Lagos State Commissioner, and APC Chairman Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, echoed their gratitude for the project. They called for further investments to ensure sustained progress in the community’s healthcare infrastructure.
The ceremony was attended by influential figures such as Baales, Chiefs, health professionals, and community stakeholders, underscoring a united commitment to Oreta’s growth. The youth body, market associations, and legislative executives of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA also showed strong support.
